we source from several big sawmills and load regular shipments to China, Taiwan , Egypt and India . some volumes are also used in the packaging industry in Jordan , Dubai , Saudi and Srilanka.
General characteristics :

This grade is a fall down from the US or Japan grades, hence in principle wane/rot/ decay/ blue stian is generally accepted
-
cracking will be visible especially in KD material
-
sound knots allowed
-
dead knots or holes are allowed
-
blue stain will be visible especially in spring March - June log seasons
-
Fresh wood is sometimes treated in AST , however most samwills will not treat this wood. from our experience spruce always arrives in a good manner , however pine will tend to mould faster in containers.
-
This wood is generally sold without wrap, however some sawmills in germany will wrap their HW5 or Q3 grades in white plastic sheets.
