20220809_162910.jpg

Spruce and pine in SF (saw-falling grade ) also known as HW2 or Q123 in fresh (antistain treated ) or KD to 15%.

This is the most purchased grade from Germany and Austrian.

the wood will be rough sawn or S4S (planned) with or without round corners.

we source from several big sawmills and load regular shipments to Iraq, UAE, Pakistan , India , Phiippines, Taiwan .........etc.

General characteristics :
  •  Generally square edged with pencil wane allowed on max 10% of the piece sin the bundle

  • some cracking will be visible especially in KD material

  • sound knots allowed

  • no dead knots or holes

  • no decay or rot in wood

  • blue stain will be visible especially in spring March - June log seasons

  • All fresh wood will be treated in AST to prevent mold and fungus during long container transit shipping

  • KD wood is generally with plastic wrap but fresh wood is without wrap.

  • sizes start from thickness (15mm - 250mm ) , Width (48mm - 300mm) and lengths are generally 3m up to 5m lengths.

  • German sawmills generally have 4 and 5m logs. some mills work with 3m. Austrian and Slovenian sawmills are mostly 4m sawmills

  • 3m length invoice/ contract means 2.985m (for optimum container loading ) and the same 4m length invoice/contract means 3.985m (for optimum container loading ).

  • generally rough sawn fresh wood is following invoice size = cutting size hence there might be some shrinkage expected after delivery .

  • KD and rough sawn usually have a better tolerance which is -1/+1mm in thickness

SPRUCE & PINE reject lists:

20230424_103425-min.jpg

Spruce and pine in Reject grade . sometimes also called HW5 or SW5 for sideboards. some mills call this grade V or Q3 grade. These are reject lists that are generated on weekly/monthly basis from Sawmills in Germany/Austria/Czech republic.

the wood will be rough sawn or S4S (planned) with or without round corners.

we source from several big sawmills and load regular shipments to China, Taiwan , Egypt and India . some volumes are also used in the packaging industry in Jordan , Dubai , Saudi and Srilanka.

General characteristics :
  •  This grade is a fall down from the US or Japan grades, hence in principle wane/rot/ decay/ blue stian is generally accepted

  • cracking will be visible especially in KD material

  • sound knots allowed

  •  dead knots or holes are allowed

  • blue stain will be visible especially in spring March - June log seasons

  • Fresh wood  is sometimes treated in AST , however most samwills will not treat this wood. from our experience spruce always arrives in a good manner , however pine will tend to mould faster in containers.

  • This wood is generally sold without wrap, however some sawmills in germany will wrap their HW5 or Q3 grades in white plastic sheets.

  • sizes start from thickness (15mm - 250mm ) , Width (48mm - 300mm) and lengths are generally 3m up to 5m lengths.
